The Federal Street Bus Stop

Here’s a nice piece that NPR did for 9/11 and Amy

Boston magazine's article on 9/11 and us

sorry I have been away for a bit. Lots of stuff at work and home. Here is an article that Boston magazine did on me and my family

No…I have not melted, just been trying to figure out how to scan pictures without setting my fingers on fire!

Anonymous asked: I found your story through Gaby Dunn's 100 interviews and have enjoyed your tumblr as well. You're an incredibly strong man and lucky to have such a kind, caring, understandable wife. It's amazing that you are able to share your son with Amy's family.

Thank you for checking in….as a family we are lucky to have Amy’s family in our lives.  My wife Stephanie is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met in my life. I’m so fortunate that she came into my life when she did.

June  update about an upcoming trip and some of the media stuff going on in my life

Bruins win the Stanley Cup and my reaction to that.

I discuss my health and running the Corporate Challenge in downtown Boston.  I also share some picture that I’ve been working on.

This is my first roll of 220 film.  It’s quite a process working with this film as it seems to be a bit grainy.  I can’t tell if it’s my scanner, the process or what.  Not so bad when it is zoomed out but when magnified it shows some distortion.  Oh well…all in course of learning about this film I guess.  I’m also adjusting to having so many medium format pictures.  I typically have shot 120 film which has 12 shots.  With 220 there are thirty!  Lots of fun stuff, that’s for sure.  So…keep an eye out as I’ll be posting more in the next few days.

I want some submissions and there has been some questions around what to submit.  Hopefully this clears some of that up!  There are so many of you who are creative and most of you are technically savvy.  So, I would love to have some emails, videos or whatever you feel like sharing.  Picture next week…I promise!

My trip with the 6th graders to Walden is recapped with some pictures I took.  They aren’t the best pix from the trip but I wanted to respect the kids privacy by not showing their faces.  I also give a thank you to you guys for all the support for last week.  It was a rough week for me and I thank you all for checking in.

This is a recap of my first roll of film that I was able to develop.  These are more proofs than final prints so I realize that there is some dust I need to clean up.  Also, not sure why the color is a bit off in the video…but some of these pictures look a bit ‘blue’…perhaps it’s time to break out my spider monitor calibration.

My thoughts on Bin Laden’s death and what closure means to me.  I also would like to take this opportunity to thank the brave men/women in our armed forces…you are doing a job that most of us can’t.  You are the best of America and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Great photos. I love the contrast of the dark and light.  Can’t wait to see more.

So, I got back my first roll of Bronica film and oh man am I happy with the results.  After so many rolls ruined by my own hand in botched loading jobs I finally got the film loaded and was able to shoot when I was up in New Hampshire.  I’ll put a little vlog on this probably next week but I thought I’d share a couple pictures that I was able to take over Easter weekend in some sorta gross weather conditions.  Check ‘em out and let me know what you think!

About:

Ten years ago I surprised my girlfriend Amy with a trip to Ireland for our engagement. Five months and one coin flip later she got caught in the World Trade Center on 9/11. My life became a different kind of normal on that day and I believe it is time to take a look back on how this normal came about. I was given an expired box of film by Amy's Father last year and I think it's time I put it to good use. I will be posting entries on photography and what I'm finding in my discoveries. As I'd like this to be interactive...ask me any questions you have by clicking the "Ask me anything" button on the right. Also, I'd love to hear about how you've changed in the past ten years by submitting an article by the 'Your view from ten' button to the right.
